2016 Western Canadian Music Award Winners

The 14th annual awards show and concert is the flagship event of BreakOut West and a celebration of all the aspects of western Canadian music.

Big congratulations to all the winners at this year’s Western Canadian Music Awards (WCMA) held in Regina! BreakOut West began with a gala event on October 13 and we are so happy to see so many festival friends recognized – including many talented Manitobans!

William Prince, who performed on our 2016 Winnipeg Folk Festival stage, accepted an award for Aboriginal Artist of the Year and also performed at the gala. Romi Mayes picked up another WCMA award this year for Blues Artist of the Year. Nadia Gaudet & Jason Burnstick took home an award for Children’s Artist of the Year.
