4 Random Questions with Esmé Patterson

With the release of her third full-length album We Were Wild and a collaboration with festival friend Shakey Graves, Esmé Patterson is taking the Winnipeg Folk Fest stage! She was the co-founder of Paper Bird, another 2017 Folk Fest performer. She’s got a sweet voice cut with a sultry edge and you’re not going to want to miss her on Main Stage Friday, July 7 at 6:00 PM. We asked her some fun questions, check out her answers below.

What’s your favourite season and why?

Fall. I only listen to certain records in certain seasons, and some of my favorites are fall-only.

What was the last thing you ate?

Oatmeal cookies that I made with the leftover trail mix from a recent road-trip.

If you couldn’t be a musician what would you be?

I'd be an astro-physicist.

What is a day that you would happily live over again?

The day I spent blissed out listening to live music in the gospel tent at the Jazz & Heritage Festival in New Orleans in 2004, before Katrina.
