4 Random Questions with Lisa LeBlanc

4 Random Questions with Lisa LeBlanc

Although her self-titled 2012 debut album went platinum, Lisa LeBlanc is no stranger to the tarnished side of life. Indeed, that’s the vibe that gets the Acadian sensation stomping her feet most every night, slamming out the tornado rhythms of her folk-trash sound. That’s what she calls it - and it fits. It’s wild and raw and full of country heart, as if a bilingual punk-rock band woke up in a saloon.

What’s your favourite drink and why?

Whiskey ginger, just because it’s awesome.

Which public figure do you admire the most?

Stevie Nicks, her music and her style were a huge influence for me as a teenager and I feel as if it stuck with me ever since. She just does what she does and doesn’t really give a shit.

Tell us about a mistake you made.

I’ve made plenty but I also believe everything happens for a reason and mistakes aren’t necessarily mistakes (I guess it depends on how you see it!)

What makes you super happy?

Cajun music, jamming with friends back home in Rogersville, NB and jambalaya.

Smoking is bad for you. Ben Caplan is not, though both will leave you breathless; so fill up your lungs, before descending into this alt-folk madness. Look, there’s no other way to describe it. With a thundering voice, a devilish beard and a bag of lurid lyrics, Caplan will coax you into his darkness – then raise up your spirit.
