Daytime Schedules Announced

The festival is fast approaching and we’re excited to announce that our daytime schedules are ready for you! Here’s a taste of some of the workshops you’ll find on the schedule.

We've got amazing workshops with folk music treasures like Archie Roach, Bruce Cockburn, Daniel Lanois and Graham Parker Duo feat. Brinsley Schwarz who will come together on the Green Ash stage to play in our Towers Of Song workshop on Friday at 2:45 PM.

Indie-Folk stunners City and Colour, Charlotte Cardin, Damien Jurado and John K. Samson & The Winter Wheat meet up on the Green Ash stage Friday at 1:00 PM for Colours, Color & Couleur.

Follow the beautiful voices and savoury melodies to Snowberry stage on Saturday at 2:15 PM for Sisters of Mercy with Big ThiefEsmé Patterson and Margaret Glaspy

Head to Big Bluestem for your fill of blues, roots and some incredible guitar in our Waiting For The Miracle workshop at 11:00 AM on Sunday featuring Arum Rae, Cécile Doo-Kingué, Paper Bird and True Blues feat. Corey Harris & Alvin Youngblood Hart.

Incredible local talent Begonia, Carly Dow, Joey Landreth, Richard Inman and The Small Glories share the Green Ash stage for Groovy Manitoba Morning on Sunday at 11:30 AM.

With the release of her third full-length album We Were Wild and a collaboration with festival friend Shakey Graves, Esmé Patterson is taking the Winnipeg Folk Fest stage! She was the co-founder of Paper Bird, another 2017 Folk Fest performer. 4 Random Questions with The Suitcase Junket

Matt Lorenz wears many hats. He’s a self-taught throat singer, junk-percussion creator, album cover artist AND he has a cool moustache. His “band” is formed by a resurrected dumpster-diamond guitar, an old oversized suitcase, a hi-hat, a gas-can baby-shoe foot-drum, a cookpot-soupcan-tambourine foot-drum, a circular-saw-blade bell and a box of bones and silverware that operate much like a hi-hat. Creating everything from the music and instruments to visual art, Lorenz is present in every bit of his craft.
