How Buying a Water Cup at Folk Fest Pays Forward
Did you know that 780 million people live without access to clean drinking water?
Water is a human’s lifeblood and we are lucky to live in a place where we have easy access to such a basic and essential entity. Our festival home at Birds Hill Provincial Park is no different. Out on site, we have taps gushing clean, cool drinking water to quench our thirst and keep us hydrated throughout the festival weekend so we are able to fully enjoy the experience.
This year, the supplier of souvenir drinking cups is Cupanion – a Canadian company that’s mission is to help alleviate the global water crisis. And by purchasing one of Cupanion’s vessels, you’re helping too.
For every cup purchased at Folk Fest, Cupanion will give the same amount (equal to your first fill) of clean water to a person in need. Cupanion partnered with WaterAid, an organization working in 26 countries that transforms millions of lives annually with safe drinking water.
And there’s more. If you Instagram yourself enjoying a drink with your new Folk Fest cup and tag @cupanion and #FillitForward, the company will donate another cup of water. It’s that simple to help people across the world have a much-needed drink of water, and every bit helps.
In addition, thanks to Folk Fest’s custom order, The Carbon Farmer is also planting a tree in a community in need on our behalf.
So drink up, stay hydrated and help your global community.
