Participate in the Manitoba Cultural Policy Review
Hey Folkies, we need your help!
The provincial government has put forth a cultural policy review that will take a closer look at the role of the arts, creative industries, heritage, libraries, Indigenous culture, and cultural infrastructure in Manitoba. They want to hear from Manitobans about the importance of arts and culture to the people who live in this province and the more people they hear from, the better.
This review will have a huge impact on arts, culture and heritage in Manitoba and we’d like your help to show the government what the arts and, especially for you Folkies, the impact that the Winnipeg Folk Fest has had on you. As a nonprofit organization, we do receive government funding that helps to keep the festival accessible for all.
We know that music is such an incredibly powerful art form and should be accessible to everyone. We strive year-round to make sure music, whether it be listening or participating, is available to all. We are able to do this through our community programs, concerts throughout the year and of course, the annual Winnipeg Folk Fest.
Your voice can make a difference and we would be forever grateful if you could take some time to put into words what the Winnipeg Folk Fest means to you and the positive impacts it has had on you and your life.
