Take Care of Yourself with Eco-friendly Products from the Hand-Made Village
One of our goals is to use environmentally-friendly products and promote sustainability every day. That’s why the Hand-Made Village features a selection of personal care products made from natural ingredients that are both health and Earth conscious.
Winnipeg-based Flatlanders Soap Co. is a great starting point for people looking to support local and sustainable business initiatives. The Fox family crafts a collection of scented and unscented handmade soaps made of natural materials and pure essential oils.
Mama Pacha means “mother earth” in South American Spanish, which is a fitting name for Tara Garcia’s natural skin care product line. Another Winnipeg local, Garcia’s products run the gamut from lotions and balms to beard oils and muscle salves. She also sells an after-bite ointment, which could come in handy after a weekend of folk festing on the prairies.
From St. Norbert comes Louise May of Aurora Farm with a line of soaps and other body care products. At the farm, goats provide fresh milk for quality handmade soaps, and alpacas provide the wool to craft beautiful yarns. From farm to your home, Aurora Farm makes products you’ll feel good about using.
Folk Fest wouldn’t be complete without stocking up on some quality products that are not only sustainable but also locally crafted. This year’s Hand-Made Village features enough artisans and variety to keep you going until next year.
