The Daytime Stage Schedules are Here!

The Daytime Stage Schedules are Here!

What makes the Winnipeg Folk Fest the best weekend of the summer and the “don’t miss” experience of the year?

Check out the daytime stage schedules to find out!

All the best concerts and once-in-a-lifetime collaborations will be shared across seven stages in beautiful Birds Hill Provincial Park from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. And you’ll get to see artists at their best. Spontaneous explosions of new music will be created here for one time only!

We are going to be featuring workshops here throughout the weekend. Here’s a couple of Friday, July 8, workshops we’re excited for.

Station to Station

Snowberry @ 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM

Colin HayOysterband

“Do you come from a land down under?” Men at Work frontman Colin Hay does, and he’s making his first appearance in our province since he was here with the band in the ‘80s. His roots, however, are in Scotland where he grew up, making the Celtic-folk Oysterband fitting partners for Mr. Hay at this worldly workshop.

Harp & Soul

Bur Oak @ 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM

San FerminThe Staves & Mikaela Davis

There have been many harps – as in harmonicas – at the festival over the years, but it’s not often that we find a stringed harp on our stages. New York’s Mikaela Davis will be gracing us with her opulent chamber pop for her first Canadian show ever. She’ll be joined by the sublime English indie-folk harmonies of sisters The Staves and baroque pop spectacle, San Fermin. Don’t let their publicity photo mislead you – San Fermin is a luscious eight-piece enterprise. It will be a treat to see all these incredible young talents on stage together.

Create a Custom Schedule with the App!

Our free festival mobile app for iPhone and Android is a Folk Fest essential! You can create your own custom schedule on your desktop or mobile app – they sync up! You’ll receive reminder notifications telling you where and when your favourite shows are about to start. Best part is that it’s an offline app, so it won’t use up your data when you’re on site.

Another great app feature: it has a streaming radio with top hits from the festival lineup so you can begin to discover the artists you’ll hear live on stage July 7-10. Let the musical pregame begin!
