Wailin’ Wednesday: Digging Through The Crates
Chrys is our resident music guru and works in our store, gladly sharing his extensive knowledge with music lovers that stop by the shop. This Sunday, he’s hauling a few crates of used vinyl from the music store to The Central City Record Show.
It’s High Q Production’s first time putting on a record show, which happens December 7, 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Union Sound Hall. Their intent is to breathe new life into the typical show. The event is curated, which is unusual for record shows, as they are typically a free-for-all for anyone with old vinyl to sell. The sellers for Saturday’s show at Union Sound Hall were hand-picked based on quality of their collections.
The Winnipeg Folk Festival Music Store was invited and Chrys will be there with crates of records, some that haven’t even hit the floor of the music store yet. Just like the music we sell out of the brick and mortar building on the corner of Bannatyne Ave. and Albert St., the selection of vinyl we’ll have at The Central City Record Show will feature all genres – funk, soul, rock, jazz, blues, metal, pop, bluegrass, world and … you get the idea.
Recently, we've begun buying and selling vinyl out of the Winnipeg Folk Festival Music Store – and it’s really taken off. We have a diverse selection of vinyl, not just in genre, but also from all decades.
Do you have records to sell? Dust ‘em off and help introduce great music to a new generation of passionate music fans. Come down to the music store Tuesdays through Saturdays, 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and have a chat with Chrys about your collection. Or give him a call at (204) 231-1377!
