Wailin’ Wednesday: Sizzling New Artist Added To The Lineup

Oh, we know what you’re thinking. So let’s start off by saying Terra Lightfoot, no relation – and indeed, she’s about to give the Lightfoot name a whole new Canadian definition.

There simply aren’t many artists out there like her, not who can breeze so easily between bluesed-up rockers, rollicking country tumbles and gentler, more vulnerable numbers. It all comes down to the voice, you know. Though her 2011 eponymous solo debut was a softer issue, her new album, Every Time My Mind Runs Wild, hits harder. With every belt of her big, bluesy voice, Lightfoot delivers a raw reminder of the emotional places a great singer can go. There’s no holding her back, when the rhythms roll – not when she’s crooning with Ontario country rascals Dinner Belles, and definitely not when she’s on her own.

That’s right! With the full lineup announcement happening this week, we are bursting with excitement and decided tell you about another incredible artist playing the festival.

Who is Tamara Lindeman?

Who is Tamara Lindeman?

Tamara Lindeman AKA Tamara Hope AKA The Weather Station is a woman who goes by many names. Under the alias Tamara Hope, she’s an actor, having played roles in numerous TV shows and films alongside the likes of Jennifer Love Hewitt and fellow Torontonian Aubrey Graham (that’s Drake, FYI). But we’ll come to know the husky voice and staccato string-picking style of The Weather Station when she plays our festival stages in July.
