Winnipeg Folk Fest Session: Mikaela Davis

Winnipeg Folk Fest Session: Mikaela Davis

The Mikaela Davis Folk Fest Session is here! And it’s beautiful.

You’ll definitely remember the incredibly talented Mikaela Davis from last year’s festival, but if you missed her she’s a 24-year-old harpist from Rochester, New York. Her music is self-described as “psychedelic rock, folk and chamber pop”.

She has opened for Punch Brothers, Jukebox the Ghost and My Brightest Diamond. She’s currently travelling back and forth from her home in Brooklyn and recording studio in Nashville, working on her second full-length album with band mates Alex Cote, Cian McCarthy and Shane McCarthy.

Davis joined us backstage for a Winnipeg Folk Fest Session at the 2016 festival to play a Joan Baez cover of “Silver Dagger”.
