Prairie Outdoor Exhibition

The Prairie Outdoor Exhibition is an interactive outdoor gallery at Folk Fest.

We look for visual artists to exhibit their work in this beautiful natural setting and experience a truly unique outdoor gallery. Here’s your chance to create something that will inspire, engage, challenge and amuse our audience!

Our theme for 2018 is Traditions. We invite you to submit proposals that explore ideas around festival traditions, the passage of time, the marking of anniversaries, as well as other project ideas you feel would be positive additions to the site.

Work can be installed in open fields, trees, tents, or on fences. Considerations should include safety, ease of installation and removal, lasting impact on the natural environment, and the ability of the work to withstand sun, wind, rain, and curious patrons/children. Artists are responsible for installing and removing work.

This year we also have an opportunity to create a mural that will be displayed at the Festival to celebrate our 2,800 volunteers. The interactive “Volunteer Wall of Love” will be 4’x24’ and we invite the volunteers to add their names to the mural in recognition of their contributions to the festival.
