Program Overview

Music industry sessions, a full day with your mentor and the opportunity to perform on stage at the 2017 Winnipeg Folk Fest!  Sessions and workshops held in the city at the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Winnipeg (603 Wellington Cres.).

2017 Mentors: JD Edwards (The Small Glories), Cara Luft (The Small Glories), Joey Landreth, Aoife O'Donovan and Chris Luedecke (Old Man Luedecke)!

Who Can Apply?

Musicians aged 14 to 24 – singer/songwriters, instrumentalists, vocalists or bands. Returning participants welcome. Festival dates July 6-9, 2017 (Program starts July 5).

When do I Apply?

Applications open now until April 20, 2017

How to Apply?

Step 1: Apply online

Submit the following:
- Performer and/or group information
- Photo
- 150-word bio describing your musical style, influences and inspirations

Step 2: Follow up by mail/email

Submit the following:
- Copy/print-out of online application confirmation
- Sample of your work: Three-song recording (MP3s preferred) with at least one original song (does not have to be professionally recorded)
- Program registration fee payment (fee only processed if accepted and don’t qualify for bursary)
