Food Vendors at the Fest!

Food is a huge part of the Folk Fest experience. We love great food and are proud to offer festival goers a delicious variety of ethical and sustainable food choices. Applications for the 2017 festival are now open. The deadline to apply is January 18, 2018.

Locations Available

Folk Fest Food Village: The Folk Fest Food Village is the central gathering area on the festival grounds. Food vendors are open 5:00 pm – 12:00 am Thursday, 10:00 am – 12:00 am Friday / Saturday and 10:00 am – 10:00 pm Sunday.

Booths in the Folk Fest Food Village: The permanent booths in the Festival Village are 16’-18’ wide and 26’ deep. A 16’x15’ concrete floor is provided.

Mobile Vendors: Vendors who want to bring a mobile unit will be also be considered. Opportunities are available in our main food village, as well as the taverns and other locations throughout the site. 

Festival Campground Food Area: Our Festival Campground is home to over 6,000 campers during the festival. Vendor hours of operation are Wednesday – Sunday 7:00 AM – 3:00 AM (hours are negotiable between these times).


The basic vendor fee is $4,100 plus GST. Fees may vary based on menu, location, and additional services required. Vendors receive a limited number of festival passes for employees. A deposit of $735 is required with application. Deposits will be processed after notification of acceptance. Deposits will be returned if you are not accepted.

Services and Facilities

Equipment for food preparation, storage, materials for display, signage, lighting and weatherproofing are your responsibility. 


For booths in the Festival Village, a 1/2” male potable water line is provided at the back of each booth. You are responsible for bringing your own sinks, food grade hoses to connect the sinks, and connector hose and ring to connect to the main drainage pipe. You must have your own down pipes in place on your sinks, connected to one main hose with an end fitting that will be compatible with our 1.5” PVC drainage pipe.

Mobile vendors need self contained tanks for water and grey water and will have access to water taps to refill tanks.

Campground vendors have access to a shared water tap and a shared grey water tank.

Electrical is available in all locations but is limited. Please ensure your application includes all electrical requirements so we can properly assess your needs. Equipment must be in good working condition and meet all applicable codes.

Propane appliances must meet all applicable codes and be properly installed in consultation with the propane supplier. Vendors operating from a booth in the festival village (mobile trucks or otherwise) must hook-up to provided propane infrastructure. An annual permit must be obtained from the Office of the Fire Commissioner.

Environmental Policies Vendors are required to offer only compostable serving wear to patrons. This includes all plates, bowls, cutlery, napkins, packaging, and condiment cups.


Our primary basis for selection is to offer a good mix of options for the audience. Your menu is key. Vendors are encouraged to participate in our LOFT program by including menu items that feature locally produced, organic, and fair trade ingredients.

Other important considerations are:

  • Operational and electrical requirements.
  • Overall menu balance.
  • The look of your concession.
  • Previous history with Folk Fest.
  • Experience with other festivals and events.

LOFT: Local, Organic, Fair Trade

We encourage vendors to include menu items that feature locally produced, organic or fair trade ingredients.
Price Range

Electrical Requirements:

Electricity is limited. List all electrical equipment that you plan to use and the power it takes (i.e. 1 cooler, 12 amps @ 110 volts, check the CSA/ULC sticker on the equipment.) Only approved equipment will be permitted.
Propane Requirements
List all propane equipment you plan to use and the specifications. (i.e. Floor burner, 220,000 B.T.U. at 30 P.S.I. requiring 4' clearance, check the CSA/ULC sticker.) Only approved equipment will be permitted.
Your application is not complete until we receive a deposit. Payments must be received by January 18 and will be processed after notification of acceptance.
