2017 Volunteer registrations are NOW OPEN!

2017 Volunteer Registrations are NOW OPEN!

How to Register (for other situations, read on below):

  • Go to myVolunteerPage.com
  • Log in using the username and password you chose previously.
  • Click on the My Profile tab, then click on Additional Info.
  • Fill out all questions under 2017 Festival Information (REQUIRED), including ‘Do you intend to volunteer at the 2017 Festival?’
  • Update your contact information (click on Basic Info) if any of it has changed in the past year.
  • Update any qualifications and/or any work experience you have acquired in the past year (under Qualifications and Additional Info, respectively).

After you have updated information on any page, be sure to click the Save button before going to the next page.

Please log in and update your profile by February 28th. Thank you!

Volunteers who sign up for the 2017 festival are confirmed to return to their previous crew. If you do not fill out the 2017 Festival Information by the February 28 deadline, we will assume you are not able to return this year and your volunteer position will become available for another volunteer.

ADDITIONAL INFO FOR:

Apprentice volunteers (returning) – In addition to the registration info above:

  • In the Apprentice Information section, make sure you’ve indicated 3-5 crews you’d be interested in working with.
  • If you would prefer to receive messages from us through Facebook, you can enter your Facebook email address in your volunteer profile. Your Facebook email address is generally .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) (check in the About section on your timeline).

Apprentice grads

If you will be 18 or older at the time of the 2017 Festival, we’d like to invite you to ‘graduate’ from the Apprentice program and join an adult volunteer crew! Here’s what to do:

  • Click on this link to access the adult volunteer application form.
  • Log in using the username and password you chose previously.
  • Update your profile as indicated above for returning volunteers, if you have not already done so.
  • In the Crew Preferences section, make sure you’ve indicated 3-5 crews you’d be interested in working with, to help us find you a crew with a good fit.
  • If you do not reapply by February 28th, we may not be able to find you a volunteer position this year.

Year-round volunteers

We realize you complete your volunteer hours year-round, so what this really means is: Do you plan to attend the 2017 Festival? If you do not answer this question, we will assume you will not be attending the 2017 Festival and we will not issue you a volunteer access pass. Volunteer hours cannot be banked towards future festivals.

Applying for a transfer

In general we try not to promote crew transfers and instead want to encourage team building within individual crews. Our priority is to facilitate necessary transfers (i.e. “I am not able to perform the duties of my previous crew”) over preferential ones (i.e. “I’d like to try something different”). This means we may not be able to accommodate all transfer requests. We do recognize however that for a variety of reasons, sometimes a crew isn't the best fit.

  • If you would like to be considered for a transfer, please contact Karla Ferguson, Volunteer Resources Manager, at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
  • If you are pre-approved for a transfer, we will email you the steps you need to fill out the transfer application.
  • Please understand that we cannot guarantee your first pick of a new crew, as it is dependent on availability of space.

Lapsed volunteers (haven’t volunteered since 2014 or earlier)

If it’s been awhile since you volunteered, we are still happy to have you back as a volunteer! In order to manage our lapsed volunteers in the database however, we needed to change your status back to an applicant. You will get priority to return to your old crew, but depending on space availability we may not be able to guarantee that. Give us a bit more info when you register so that we have some options in placing you on a crew:

  • Log in to myVolunteerPage.com using the username and password you chose previously.
  • Update your profile as indicated above for returning volunteers, if you have not already done so.
  • In the Crew Preferences section, make sure you’ve indicated 3-5 crews you’d be interested in working with, to help us find you a crew with a good fit.

Current applicants (who have not yet been placed on a volunteer crew, both regular and apprentice)

The annual registration process is the same as for returning volunteers, so please follow the steps above.

  • If you do not update your profile by February 28th, we will assume that you are not interested and/or available to volunteer in 2017.
  • If you initially applied as an apprentice volunteer and will be 18 or older at the time of the 2017 Festival, follow the registration steps for Apprentice Grads above.
  • All returning volunteers must commit to volunteering by February 28th. After that, we’ll begin placing new volunteers on crews, likely in late March/early April.

Having trouble logging in?

Keep these tips in mind:

  • If you have forgotten your password or username, click on the ‘Forgot your username or password?’ link on www.myVolunteerPage.com to reset your password and/or have your username emailed to you.
  • If your email address has changed and you cannot retrieve your username or password, please contact either your coordinator or volunteer staff to update it for you.
  • Passwords are case-sensitive.
  • Copying and pasting the username and password doesn’t always work (type them in manually).
  • Be careful with similar characters, for example, number ‘0’ versus capital ‘O’, and capital i ‘I’ versus lower case L ‘l’.
  • Time and date settings must be correct on the computer being used in order to log in. For example, if a volunteer has recently moved to Manitoba from BC, they will need to update the time zone on their computer before they can log in.
  • MyVolunteerPage.com is accessible on mobile devices through myVolunteerPage.mobi; however, this site does not have the full functionality of myVolunteerPage.com. Volunteer profiles cannot be updated on the mobile site, only on the main site.
  • As a last resort, your coordinator or volunteer staff can manually reset your password for you. Please check out the above tips first!
