Online Charity Auction

We can offer life-changing musical experiences to young people and people who face barriers in our community because of supporters like you!

November 17 – 24, 2017

By supporting this auction…

You create incredible opportunities for up-and-coming musicians by funding the Young Performers Program. Youth ages 14 to 24 have the opportunity to apply to the program to be selected to work on their music with Winnipeg Folk Festival performers, gain inspiration, hone their craft, glean industry insight and make networking connections – all while working up to performing on a festival stage. The Young Performers Program is an important stepping-stone in the careers of local artists. Your support allows these artists to help to create the vibrancy and high quality of music played on stages across Winnipeg and at the festival.

You offer people the life-changing Folk Fest experience by covering costs of the Guest for a Day program. Every year, members of community groups who do not have the financial or logistical capacity to attend the summer festival are invited to take in the sights, sounds and tastes with a guide to welcome them to the festival community. Many of these people are new Canadians, live with disabilities or struggle with addiction. Live music is powerful – it changes perceptions, inspires imaginations, and impacts lives in a personal and meaningful way. It connects people and promotes values for healthy living and you help Guest for a Day participants take part so they may go home with happy memories and warm hearts.
